Learn from experience
I vividly remember stepping up to be CEO of Kiwi Wealth in 2021. It was nerve wracking but also exhilarating. In that first year, I looked for professional development that would support my transition but I found nothing designed for that busy period when you’re trying to hit the ground running.
So instead I learnt two ways: from the generous tips of other current CEOs and from on the job experience - and the tumbles and scars that come from that.
There was a lot to learn from. I led the business through redefining its purpose and strategy, pivotal tech projects, cyber attacks, a refreshed PR strategy, selling divisions and ultimately selling itself.
With happy shareholders and the CEO role behind me, I want to share what I have learnt. I also want to deliver it in a way that makes sense to people on the tools right now, ordering a curriculum that builds knowledge and confidence, hard and soft skills, to build the foundation for a successful promotion.
I look forward to sharing these lessons with you.

What makes us different?
We’re not an ordinary course provider. We don’t take you out of the office, we don’t even make you login after sign up. We don’t insist on any assessments - you’re a grown up, it’s up to you.
Easy access
We are all different so choose how you consume your curriculum in a way that suits you. Sign up for daily emails or halve the pace if you prefer, listen on the move with our audio option, or just login and set your own pace - little by little or binge all at once. You do you.
Style and tone
The lessons deliberately draw on Rhiannon’s personal experience to illustrate and add a human touch. Leadership does not exist in theory alone. The tone is chatty because, well, Rhiannon is pretty chatty. We think it’s an easier read at 6am than a old fashioned economics lecture.
Resources and articles
We also link to other resources and articles. One common resource is the Harvard Business Review. Due to copyright, you’ll have to subscribe to read all of them. We think it’s a worthwhile investment but recognise you may not want the additional expense. Don’t worry if not, there are more than enough links to free resources too.

No. You choose whether you want to receive them and the pace (5 a week or 5 a fortnight). We think it's a neat way to get through the course but it's whatever works best for you. You choose.

Yes! All the lessons have been recorded as audio if you prefer to listen rather than read - or you just like to mix it up a bit,

We often recommend a HBR article in additional resources. We think the articles are great for senior execs and that a subscription is well worth it. But if you prefer not to get one, then there is plenty of other additional resources for you to read or watch for free.
